Is BIM Collaborate Pro now Forma Design Collaboration?
Yes. Autodesk now uses the name Forma Design Collaboration. The course keeps the familiar BIM Collaborate Pro name while introducing current terminology. Earlier Autodesk Construction Cloud and BIM 360 resources may use different interfaces; the team will confirm the platform used in your training project.
Is this the same as a Forma Site Design course?
Forma Design Collaboration focuses on team collaboration, shared design information and coordination. Forma Site Design is a separate product for site planning and early design exploration. This course focuses on cloud BIM collaboration.
How is Forma Data Management / Autodesk Docs different?
Forma Data Management, formerly Autodesk Docs, provides the common data environment for project files, access controls, versions and reviews. Design Collaboration and cloud authoring workflows add further capabilities and access requirements. Being able to view a project file does not by itself confirm access to Revit cloud worksharing.
Do I need Revit experience before joining?
Revit experience is useful for cloud authoring and model exchange exercises. Project coordinators and document controllers can discuss a learning path focused on browser-based information workflows. Share your CAD, BIM and project background so admissions can explain suitable preparation and course scope.
What is the difference between synchronising and publishing?
Synchronising updates the cloud central model for the Revit authoring team. Publishing makes the selected model information, views and sheets available for wider review. They are separate steps, so a team's latest authoring changes and its latest published review version may differ.
What does sharing or consuming a package mean?
Sharing makes a team's selected package available to other project teams. Consuming lets a receiving team adopt that package into its own design environment. The course explores this controlled exchange and the model linking choices that support it.
Does this course replace Navisworks Manage training?
This course focuses on cloud collaboration and Model Coordination. Navisworks Manage has a separate desktop review workflow, including Clash Detective and TimeLiner. The tools can be connected in supported project setups. Explore our Navisworks Manage course if you also need deeper desktop coordination training.
What software and cloud access will I need?
The team will confirm your Autodesk account, training project access, browser, authoring software version and any Desktop Connector setup. Cloud worksharing exercises need the appropriate authoring software, service entitlement and project permissions. Ask which access is included and what you need to arrange for your selected batch.
