Plant design & piping training

Build the model.
Connect the disciplines.

Develop a plant-modelling workflow that connects equipment, pipe routes and supporting steelwork. Practise organising the design data and preparing outputs that explain the sample layout.

Enquire about PDMS training in Sharjah for piping designers, engineers and graduates. Share your project platform and experience so admissions can confirm a suitable PDMS or E3D learning plan.

Choose the platform that matches your goal.

AVEVA ended PDMS sales and support on 1 April 2024 and identifies E3D Design as its successor. If your work involves an existing PDMS project, discuss the legacy version and access requirements. For a current AVEVA workflow, ask about E3D training availability and scope.

01 / ARRANGE

Start with the equipment layout.

Organise the sample equipment, references and connection points.

02 / ROUTE

Develop the piping workflow.

Connect selected components using the agreed project specifications.

03 / DOCUMENT

Make the design readable.

Review the model and prepare selected drawing and material-list outputs.

  • Build sample vessels, pumps or equipment using included tools.
  • Position equipment and review nozzle directions and connection points.
  • Organise names, references and the agreed model attributes.
03 · Piping specifications & branch setup
  • Introduce catalogue and specification selection in the sample project.
  • Create selected pipes and branches and review end connections.
  • Discuss bore, component choice and connectivity checks.
04 · Pipe routing & component placement
  • Develop routes with selected elbows, tees, reducers and valves.
  • Practise offsets, slope or bypass exercises within the agreed scope.
  • Review component orientation and connection continuity.
05 · Structural steel & support coordination
  • Introduce sample columns, beams and bracing in a pipe-rack exercise.
  • Review the relationship between pipe routes and supporting structure.
  • Discuss included support-modelling tools and their limits.
06 · Model review & clash-check workflow
  • Navigate the coordinated equipment, piping and structural model.
  • Review selected spatial conflicts and access or clearance requirements.
  • Record issues and revise the agreed sample layout.
07 · Isometric drawings & material information
  • Introduce the included piping-isometric production workflow.
  • Review dimensions, annotations and sample component lists.
  • Discuss ISODRAFT settings or equivalent tools for the selected platform.
08 · General arrangement drawings & plant project
  • Prepare selected plan, elevation or section outputs.
  • Review sheet layout, annotations and model-to-drawing consistency.
  • Present the coordinated model and agreed project deliverables.
  • Ask about DRAFT or E3D drawing tools for your selected release.

Put the learning to work

A plant design study
you can explain.

Follow a small process-unit or pipe-rack brief through equipment placement, routing and drawing preparation. Explain how the selected design information connects across the model.

Your trainer will confirm the project inputs, software platform, review criteria and required outputs for the exercise.

Discuss your project goals ↗
  1. An equipment layout

Present the sample equipment arrangement, references and connection points.

  2. A piping model

Explain the selected specifications, component choices and route changes.

  3. A coordination review

Record the agreed spatial checks and model revisions across disciplines.

  4. A drawing pack

Organise selected isometrics, general arrangement views and material information.

Before you join

PDMS & plant-design
questions, answered.

Who is this PDMS course suitable for?

Piping designers, CAD draftspersons, mechanical or process engineers, and engineering graduates can enquire. Share your background and intended plant-design work so admissions can recommend a suitable plan.

Is AVEVA PDMS still supported?

AVEVA states that PDMS has not been sold or supported since 1 April 2024. E3D Design is its successor. Confirm whether your goal requires a legacy PDMS workflow or current E3D training.

Will I learn PDMS or E3D Design?

Confirm the exact software platform, release, included modules and access arrangements with admissions before enrolling. This page accepts enquiries for both learning goals.

Can beginners join plant-design training?

Discuss your CAD experience, engineering drawing knowledge and understanding of piping layouts. Admissions can explain foundation support and the prerequisites for your chosen pathway.

Does the course cover equipment and piping?

The proposed pathway includes equipment placement, nozzle references and piping exercises. Request the detailed syllabus to confirm the models, specifications and routing depth.

Are structural steel and pipe supports included?

The proposed modules introduce a pipe-rack exercise and support coordination. Confirm the included modelling tools and whether specialist support tasks need a separate scope.

Will I learn isometrics and general arrangement drawings?

The proposed pathway includes selected piping-isometric and general arrangement outputs. Confirm the drawing tools, annotations and material-list exercises for your software release.

Does PDMS training include piping stress analysis?

This pathway focuses on plant modelling and documentation. If you need piping stress analysis, request a separate software and training scope.

What certificate will I receive?

Ask admissions to confirm the CADD completion certificate and programme requirements. Any AVEVA credential or additional assessment must be confirmed separately before enrolment.

Can I see a demo before choosing my course?

Ask admissions about a guided software demo and available timings. The interactive illustration on this page explains the workflow; it does not run PDMS, E3D or automatic clash detection.

Can I attend online from Dubai, Abu Dhabi or the GCC?

Enquire about instructor-led online training and share your schedule and computer setup. Ask about classroom availability in your preferred UAE location.

What are the duration, fees and payment options?

Request the current training-hour plan, project requirements, total fees and payment terms. Admissions can explain available Tabby or Tamara options and their terms.
