Planning & project controls training

Turn a project brief
into a workable plan.

Learn how project scope becomes a structured schedule. Practise creating activities, applying calendars, connecting logic and reviewing dates before progressing into resource planning and updates.

This Primavera P6 training pathway supports engineers, planners and construction professionals who want to develop scheduling skills for building, infrastructure or industrial project work. Share your experience so we can recommend a suitable starting level.

01 / PLAN

Give the work a structure.

Break the scope into a WBS, activities and milestones with clear calendar and logic assumptions.

02 / CONTROL

Keep progress visible.

Compare updates against a baseline and review changes in dates, durations and resource requirements.

03 / COMMUNICATE

Make the next decision clearer.

Prepare readable layouts, look-ahead schedules and reports that explain progress and planning priorities.

Your software pathway: This page focuses on P6 Professional. P6 EPPM and Oracle Primavera Cloud have different interfaces and capabilities. Tell us which product your team uses so the training scope matches your work.

Put the learning to work

A project programme
you can explain.

Develop a guided building, infrastructure or engineering project schedule. Connect scope, activity logic and resources, then prepare a baseline and a sample period update.

Your trainer will confirm the project inputs, software environment, review criteria and required deliverables.

Discuss your project goals ↗
  1. A structured programme

Present the WBS, milestones, activity logic, calendars and scheduling assumptions.

  2. A baseline & resource study

Review the agreed baseline, selected resource assignments and budget information.

  3. A period update

Apply sample site progress and explain forecast changes against the baseline.

  4. A reporting pack

Organise selected layouts, look-aheads and progress summaries for a planning review.

Before you join

Primavera P6 questions,
answered.

Who should join Primavera P6 training?

Planning engineers, civil and MEP engineers, project coordinators, project managers, quantity surveyors and engineering graduates can enquire. Share your role and planning experience to discuss the appropriate course level.

Can beginners learn Primavera P6?

Yes, beginners can discuss a foundation pathway. Basic computer skills, engineering drawing knowledge and familiarity with project activities are helpful. The team will explain the prerequisites for your selected programme.

Which Primavera product will I learn?

The proposed pathway focuses on P6 Professional. Confirm the release, database environment, included features and software access before enrolment. P6 EPPM and Oracle Primavera Cloud are separate products with different training requirements.

Does the course include CPM and critical path review?

The proposed curriculum covers activity relationships, scheduling, total float and critical or longest-path review. Exercises also discuss the effect of calendars, constraints and scheduling assumptions.

Will I learn resources and cost loading?

The proposed pathway includes resource assignments, units, rates, cost loading and usage profiles. Request the detailed syllabus to confirm the depth of resource levelling and cost-control exercises.
